jail by down
okay. I havent used this much recently. BUT I have learned a ton of local native songs. Im going to start using this blog again. gonna use it to learn songs+vocals so i have an archive for all the songs I know..
I figure most of them out on my own. I like to make my own style of playing a song. Nuff said.
so first song, Jail by Down. Listen to it if you havent.
guitar:
dropped D, use powerchords starting on fourth fret, use prelude on 4th string 6to4, slide to second fret with powerchord. slide back up to 4th and repeat.
Lyrics:
One day, the strain
I’ve never felt like this before
Our lives capsized, one man will give back
Be calm my love
Why don’t you kneel for me?
I write for sight
One day you’ll find me in the corner
More sublime,
But I still never died before…
This is my new guitalele (by yamaham) .. I looked up White Winter Hymnal chords by fleet foxes, messed around a little, and came out with this.. I mostly just wanted to post it so I will remember the chords I used.
The Hungry Ocean
dug toes into the sand
as salt permiated the air
sun fell into water
yellow began to drown
walk in the wet
as water tickles a sole,
slowly ebb & flow,
endlessly trying to reach further
lay out the body
floating on the waves
until the sea spits out the sun
Everywhere is Light
if the coordinates could reach you
we’d be in a different place
if I could shape the clouds
the sun would only shine
& I’d share the light with the surrounding,
so that colors were sewn
into the eyes, walls, floor, and celing
and the bricks all become transparent
everywhere is lights
